We are working with a world-class organization that designs, develops, and manufactures niche vehicles globally, seeking an experienced Design Engineer - Exterior Trim on contract, supporting the EV program for the global market.
As a Design Engineer - Exterior Trim, you should have experience in designing exterior trim within plastics using Catia from initial concept through to product launch.
Responsibilities:
CAD operation skills - Expectation for the engineer to be able to create and manipulate geometry for primary communication of concepts/schemes within automotive exterior trim. Catia v5 operative skills, demonstrating high technical competence - Generation of 3D geometry & sectional data. Engineering experience in the delivery of the designated module systems. Evidence of engineering skills, including the ability to manage & resolve engineering issues. Understanding of roles & needs of different client groups. Evidence of working effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve results.
Knowledge and Experience: Delivering design solutions for exterior trim using Catia. Engineering BoM development. DFMEA & DVP creation & maintenance. Developing scope-of-work documents with key deliverables identified. Supporting the module deliverables through to the program required gateway. Benchmarking of competitor vehicles & reporting of findings. Interface with cross-functional teams (Package, Analysis, Manufacturing, DVA, etc.) & implement recommendations where appropriate to create a right first-time release.
