3 Days Ago An exciting opportunity for a Producibility Engineer (Mechanical Engineering focused) has arisen in New Build & Components, as part of the Vessel Engineering Producibility Team at Rolls-Royce Defence (Submarines). As part of the Engineering Producibility Team, a Producibility Engineer is expected to influence new designs using New Product Introduction tools to ensure manufacturability of product designs, continually improve upon existing product designs, and translate these into world-class processes that meet business and customer requirements for Safety, Quality, Cost & Delivery. What you will be doing: Generating the technical package for the shop floor for the manufacture of parts, including Technical Instructions, Manufacturing Stage Drawings, and Production Routers. Using Build in Quality tools such as Process Maps, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis (PFMEAs), and Control Plans. Ensuring application of manufacturing process controls as the Technical Authority. Reducing the cost of non-quality across the product family. Liaising with other departments such as Design Engineering & Technology, Manufacturing, Quality, and Purchasing to ensure timely delivery of parts. Supporting production to ensure product flow in the factory. Driving continuous improvements to eliminate the need for concessions and rework. Controlling and reducing costs to drive profitability in the factory by continuously challenging manufacturing methods. Who we’re looking for: UK minimum HND/foundation degree qualified or equivalent technical experience. Recognised national or international engineering accreditation (e.g., UK IEng or CEng) is desirable. General understanding of manufacturing processes relevant to the business (Machining, Welding, NDE, Fabrication & Assembly, and Metrology). Awareness of Manufacturing Systems (i.e., NX, Teamcentre, CAPP, SAP) relevant to the business is desirable. Good understanding of Engineering processes relevant to the role (e.g., DfM). Strong personal skills to manage relationships and influence internally and externally. Excellent communication, planning, and coordinating skills. Ability to manage ambiguity, set priorities, deal with change, and drive for results. We are an equal opportunities employer committed to developing a diverse workforce and an inclusive working environment. We believe that diverse backgrounds and cultures provide different perspectives that contribute to our success. To work for Rolls-Royce Submarines, you need to hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not currently have this. Due to the nature of our work, you must hold UK nationality; dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work with Rolls-Royce Submarines.
