Their innovative solutions serve a range of sectors, including academia, aerospace, automotive, food, industrial assembly, material processing, rail research, and testing & verification. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their dynamic engineering design team. This role involves working collaboratively with the design team to produce innovative designs for a wide range of automated special-purpose machinery. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bespoke machinery design and a deep understanding of material handling systems. The Role: The successful Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for producing designs for a wide range of automated special-purpose machinery, working under the Design Manager as part of the engineering design team. Key Responsibilities: Produce designs for a wide range of automated special-purpose machinery Produce mechanical and material calculations Diagnose modifications and improvements to existing equipment Ensure design & manufacturing feasibility of client’s requests Provide guidance and support to junior engineers Manage design projects from concept to completion The Candidate: To be successful in your application for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role, you will need the following: An engineering qualification CAD software experience Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and clients Excellent understanding of engineering principles Relevant industry experience, ideally with special purpose machinery, coil processing industry, or material handling.
