Purpose As the Construction Product Director, you will be a strategic leader responsible for shaping and executing the product strategy and vision in the Construction business unit. You will lead cross-functional teams, drive product development, and prioritize features to align with business objectives and market demands. The Causeway Construction Business Unit includes systems for project estimating, subcontractor enquiries management, supply chain optimisation, workforce management, site control as well as project accounting and cost control. Customers include the Top Tier Contractors in the UK, UK government, thousands of general and subcontractors and hundreds of thousands of UK workers. You will champion a customer-centric approach, analyse market trends, manage budgets, and communicate with various stakeholders. Your primary objective will be to align product initiatives with business goals and drive innovation. Key Responsibilities Develop and communicate a clear product strategy for the Construction business unit that aligns with the company's overall vision and objectives. Ensure product strategy supports the business unit’s successes in the UK and potentially in the French and USA markets. Re-align products where required toward the business’s vision of leadership in the Construction sector. Take the products and data services in Construction on a journey to CausewayOne, the company’s platform. Lead and mentor a team of product managers and owners, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. Lead market research including sizing and competitor analysis to identify commercial opportunities and trends for product improvement. Collaborate with the executive team to prioritise projects, allocate resources, and manage the product roadmap. Monitor and analyse key product metrics to assess performance and identify areas for improvement. Define product requirements and user stories, ensuring they meet customer needs and business objectives. Track Product Profit and Loss statements for your portfolio. Work closely with design and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle to deliver high-quality products on time and within budget. Oversee product launches and lead go-to-market strategies in collaboration with the marketing team. Act as a product evangelist, both internally and externally, to drive product awareness and adoption of Infrastructure solutions and innovations. Key Qualifications A bachelor's or master’s degree in business, engineering, marketing or within a related discipline. Substantial experience in product management is essential. This includes experience in developing and launching successful products, preferably with a track record of leadership and achieving results. High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Key Skills Vision and Goal Setting : You will be required to help define a compelling vision, set clear goals, and chart our strategic direction with key performance indicators to guide and maintain our course. Relationship Building and Stakeholder Management : Strengthening relationships with internal teams and external partners is vital. Negotiating and Decision Making : You will possess strong negotiation skills for mutually beneficial agreements. Communication and Influence : You will be required to convey ideas persuasively to internal teams and external parties. Product Lifecycle Management : Proficiency in managing the product lifecycle, from product launch to end-of-life strategies. Go to Market Strategy : Working alongside Product Marketing, you will be skilled in comprehensive planning for launches and market entry. Strategic planning and financial management : You will be required to use financial forecasting to project future outcomes based on historical data and market trends. Strategy and Market Research : You will be familiar with validation techniques like observation, interviews, MVPs, and A/B testing to make pivot or persevere decisions. Industry Knowledge and Travel Requirements Knowledge of the UK construction industry, its supply chain and the how construction projects are designed, costed, built, and managed is essential. The design, product and development teams are located across offices all over the UK and there will be a requirement to travel to meet up. There will be regular meetings at the UK HQ in Gerrards Cross. The customer base and the major projects we support are UK-wide and there will be a requirement for project / location visits, industry meetings and advisory board collaborations with customers.
