Lead Unreal Developer

position, we are looking for a motivated and skilled professional to join our VR Team. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to collaborate with the

R&D team

and contribute to ongoing and new defence and private sector projects. The role offers significant exposure to innovative projects and will require close cooperation with both the

VR

and

R&D

teams. As the

Lead Unreal Developer , your primary responsibility will be the

structure and delivery of XR projects

for clients in both the

defence

and

private sectors , with a focus on

Unreal Engine

development. However, this position will also provide the opportunity to broaden your expertise in other technologies. MVR is committed to continuous development and offers training opportunities for developers looking to diversify their skill set across areas such as

web, mobile development ,

augmented reality (AR) , and

artificial intelligence (AI) . In addition to project development, you will take on an important secondary role involving

horizon scanning —identifying and evaluating new opportunities to apply

XR technologies . Your insights will contribute to

modernising training solutions , enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of client programs while supporting their long-term goals. This role is ideal for someone eager to lead and innovate within an expanding and dynamic tech environment. Responsibilities include Support the VR development team, providing the core coding architecture for projects. Ensure support to relevant sub-contractors through the development and delivery process of supporting projects. Ensure code quality using industry standard practices along with appropriate documentation. Assist the change team in any VR outline or detailed proposal activities. In support of horizon scanning, look for new technology, companies, and solutions in the market. Any additional tasks to ensure the success of the role and support to the Business Unit. Specialist Knowledge and Essential Skills Demonstrable experience of using games technologies. Demonstrable skills with Unity. Working knowledge of C# and industry standard practices. Demonstrable experience of Virtual Reality development. Knowledge of other software packages including Source Control and Visual Studio. Bachelor’s degree in a directly relevant field.
