Position reports to : Workshop Manager, Ashley Mowers

Job Purpose Summary : To perform basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer owned horticultural equipment.

Ashley Mowers is a family run business supplying, servicing and repairing garden machinery in North Cheshire/South Manchester for over 35 years. We are a family run business; our employees are core to our success. Our small 10 strong team work closely together to provide excellent customer service and long-term maintenance of domestic and professional garden equipment.

We have an immediate requirement for an enthusiastic & self-motivated individual to develop their career as a Horticultural Service Technician, based in Ashley, Near Altrincham. We will offer on the job training on a wide range of machinery along with enrolment onto specialised Manufacturers training courses.

Responsibilities:

Perform basic horticultural equipment diagnostics and determine what repairs are needed

Perform basic horticultural equipment repairs as requested by the Workshop Manager

Participate in all job related training and development

Prepare all reports and forms in conjunction with work assignments

Maintain condition of inventory, tools and equipment

Skills and Qualifications:

Proven knowledge of methods, material, tools and techniques used in the repair of horticultural/outdoor power equipment including 2-stroke machinery

Excellent knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems

Good skills in operating equipment used for diagnostic purposes

Applicants must be:

Punctual

Reliable

Well presented

Advantageous to have a mechanical background

Self-motivated and confident

Practical and highly adaptable

Good communication and organisational skills

Good numeracy and literacy skills

Full driving licence (preferred)

Hours of work: Standard is 40 hours a week and will be Monday to Friday 8.00am to 5.00pm however there may be a requirement for overtime and flexibility with hours when the business requires it.
