We are looking for a Construction Director to join our Infrastructure team in Kent on this major highways project. You will be accountable for the operational delivery of the project safely, to budget, to programme and to required quality. What you'll do:

Provide strategic direction and strong leadership to the construction team in uncompromising Health, Safety and Wellbeing, combined with a progressive attitude towards reducing carbon, throughout all aspects of delivery. Provide leadership, governance, support, and challenge to the construction team to deliver the project in line with the established key objectives and outcomes. As a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, influence and champion the collaborative strategy, Vision, Values, and Behaviours of the integrated project team. Define the organisation of the construction team for the delivery of the project together with clear roles, responsibilities and accountability and authority levels. Ensure that each member of the team understands their role within the project and the part they play in its successful delivery. Support the detailed design phase in ensuring an efficient and buildable design is produced. Challenge the design and construction teams to find innovative ways to circumvent any potential technical issues that threaten project objectives and to minimise cost. Facilitate coordination, standardisation, and consistency across sections to deliver the best outcomes for the overall project. Lead change to the way of working by promoting continual inclusivity, improvement, and best practice. Ensure supply chain arrangements are appropriate and efficiently managed and subcontracts are correctly administered. Set clear targets for the construction team to measure performance and drive continuous improvement. Regularly review performance against these targets and take any necessary actions to ensure successful delivery. Foster an inclusive culture to maximise effectiveness of a diverse team. Nurture and develop future talent. What you'll bring to the role:

Proven experience of successfully delivering major highways schemes (preferably for National Highways) at Project Director level. Extensive experience and knowledge of highway construction methods and supply chain partners. Progressive attitude to carbon reduction, social value, stakeholder management and I&D. Experience of building and maintaining an inclusive culture.
