Primary Engineer (Contract)

Primary Engineer We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Primary Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This role is focused on National Grid projects, requiring substantial hands-on design work. The successful candidate will have mid-senior level experience and a strong background in primary substation design. Key Responsibilities: Develop detailed designs for primary substations, ensuring compliance with National Grid standards and regulations. Perform hands-on design tasks including but not limited to layout design, equipment specification, and system integration. Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions. Conduct site surveys and assessments as needed to inform design processes. Provide technical support and expertise during the construction and commissioning phases. Ensure that project timelines are met and that deliverables are completed to the highest standards. Liaise with clients, stakeholders, and contractors to ensure clear communication and alignment on project objectives. Prepare and review technical documentation, including design reports, drawings, and specifications. Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with design and implementation phases. Experience: Proven experience working on National Grid projects is essential. Extensive experience in primary substation design, including hands-on design work. Strong understanding of National Grid standards and regulations. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in relevant design software and tools. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
