THE OPPORTUNITY This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the implementation of cutting-edge Integration and Test plans for advanced static and full-motion driver training simulators. These simulators are part of a comprehensive programme for the AJAX vehicle, supporting immersive and realistic training for the British Army. The position focuses on delivering solutions through collaborative efforts within a multidisciplinary engineering team. Primary Purpose of the Role: The role emphasizes the latter stages of the systems engineering lifecycle, ensuring successful delivery of integrated systems to meet customer requirements. It involves working closely with project stakeholders to create and execute integration and test strategies. Key Interactions: You will engage with various members of the project team, including the Integration and Test Manager, Engineering Delivery Manager (EDM), Project Design Authority (PDA), and potentially the customer and end-user communities. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Define integration and test strategies and contribute to associated estimates and schedules. Prepare for system integration and test activities. Communicate design non-compliances promptly to internal and external stakeholders. Support integration and test efforts on-site or at customer locations, providing evidence of compliance with requirements. Analyze test results, compile technical reports, and communicate findings effectively. Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with integration and test phases. Collaborate with architects and design authorities to ensure alignment between integration, testing, and design requirements. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: At least 4 years of experience in an Integration and Test role involving complex system development. Strong understanding of integration and test strategies, system lifecycles, and continuous integration practices. Experience in formal verification and validation activities, as well as acceptance testing for UK Defence projects (e.g., FAT, VCRM). Excellent technical writing, communication, and analytical skills. Effective team player with the ability to operate in multicultural, distributed team environments. Proficiency in tools such as DOORS, Polarion, JIRA, and Vivaldi or equivalent. Familiarity with training and simulation systems. Essential Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or Science. Special Requirements: Willingness to travel within the UK.
