Process Engineering Team Leader

in our fast-paced R&D environment. As the Process Engineering Team Leader, you will be leading a team responsible for designing, commissioning, and optimising pilot plants and bespoke process development equipment, as well as site utility & infrastructure assets, which supports innovation & continuous improvement, driving transformation in R&D operational activities. You will lead, manage & develop the team to provide process engineering support to the capital projects team & engineering support team. You will also provide technical support & coaching to the wider TRES process engineering group. About Johnson Matthey:

Your responsibilities: Lead, manage and develop a team of Process Engineers and Senior Process Engineers, including conducting performance management and identifying & implementing training & development needs. Execute and lead process engineering design activities, following JM standards and procedures. Facilitate ever improving EHS performance across the organisation through close partnership with process safety, engineering assurance and IT cyber security. Execute and oversee the development of process engineering designs, including pressure relief systems, heat and mass balances, process specifications, P&ID development and process safety design. Leverage best practice through partnership and close collaboration with other CT and JM R&D centres. Provide technical support and guidance to the process engineering team. Lead process hazard assessments (including Hazard Studies, LoPA & Area Classification). Collaborate with & give quality technical issue resolution to internal customers such as our R&D teams, engineering teams and site utility team. Requirements for the role: Degree in Chemical Engineering with a strong learning agility. Chartered Engineer status. Demonstrable experience of Process Engineering at the pilot scale and of R&D operational environments comprising multi-scale activities. Demonstrable experience in leading multi-discipline teams. Strong communicator and a team player, comfortable interacting with & leading many different stakeholders. Ability to coach and develop others.
