The role: They are seeking an experienced and dynamic Engineering Manager to lead our backend engineering teams. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in backend development, proven leadership skills, and a passion for driving technical excellence and innovation. As an Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for managing talented engineers, overseeing the development and maintenance of backend systems, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable, and reliable software solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow our backend engineers, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture. Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and support the professional development of the engineers. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the team and with other departments.

Technical Oversight: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of backend systems and services. Ensure the team adheres to best practices in software development, including code reviews, testing, and continuous integration/deployment. Drive technical innovation and improvement by staying current with industry trends and emerging technologies. Identify and mitigate potential risks and bottlenecks in the development process.

Strategy and Vision: Contribute to the strategic planning of the company's backend architecture and technology stack. Align the team's goals and objectives with the company's overall business strategy and technical roadmap. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

Operations and Support: Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of backend systems in production. Implement and monitor system health metrics, ensuring proactive identification and resolution of issues.

Work with DevOps, Security and IT teams to optimize infrastructure and deployment processes.

Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in backend development, with a strong technical background in C# .NET, Java, Python, Node.js. 3+ years of experience in a leadership or management role. Proven experience in designing and building scalable and reliable backend systems. Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and best practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.

Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Familiarity with microservices architecture and RESTful API design. Strong understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL). Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to inspire and motivate a team. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
