About The Role The School of Film & Television

(SoFT) is seeking to recruit an experienced

Production Manager (PM)

who can oversee, support and ensure the effective management of the physical production of all student filming projects - from pre-production to final delivery. The post holder will work alongside our other PM, in collaboration with Academic, Technical and Stores colleagues, to safeguard the health and safety of Falmouth students (and staff) ensuring all projects are appropriately risk-assessed and properly managed. You will also contribute to the teaching of students at all levels by attending lectures and seminars, in order to guide them through the production process.

Additionally, as an experienced producer/production manager, the post holder will support and advise on other practical elements of student shoots including (but not limited to) assisting and supporting location scouting for student productions; liaising with insurers, industry professionals and other relevant authorities including local councils and film offices. You will be confident in checking risk assessments, advising on risk mitigation measures, shooting schedules, budgets, call sheets, insurance forms and location agreements.

About You The ideal candidate will have experience of working as a producer and/or in a production management role and of working in a position with strong oversight of health and safety in a film/TV production environment. With a proactive approach, you’ll have experience of planning, managing, and supporting teams effectively.

Alongside this experience you will need outstanding organisational and time management skills, excellent report writing and IT fluency and the ability to communicate with a range of different stakeholders.

Finally, you will combine professional experience, ideally some academic knowledge, a strong understanding of current industry practice; and you will bring the dynamism to inspire our students.

This is a fixed term maternity cover up to 12 months, part time, 21 hours a week position across Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 7 hours per day, over 34 weeks per year. The closing date for this position is

Sunday 12 January 2025.
