About the Role The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the transition of new products from the development phase to full-scale production. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful launch of new products by coordinating various activities and resolving any issues that may arise during the NPI process in a very fast moving and dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be part of a team responsible for creating designs and technical drawings for electromechanical devices, components and assembly jigs/fixture using SolidWorks, performing tolerance, dimensional and stress calculations. Responsibilities Lead the cross-functional team involved in the introduction of new products, including engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, supply chain, sales and other relevant departments. Develop and execute project plans, ensuring that key milestones are achieved on time and within budget. Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Collaborate with the technical and engineering teams to ensure that new products are optimised for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing. Provide feedback on design concepts, materials, and manufacturing processes. Define and establish the manufacturing processes required for new products. Work closely with production teams to develop assembly methods, equipment requirements, and work instructions. Identify areas for process optimisation and cost reduction. Implement Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to drive efficiency and quality improvements. Collaborate with the quality team to develop and implement quality control plans for new products. Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations, and drive corrective and preventive actions. Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and components required for new product manufacturing. Develop strong relationships with suppliers to resolve any supply chain issues. Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate them. Anticipate challenges related to production capacity, quality, or resource constraints, and develop strategies to overcome them. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of NPI activities, including project plans, manufacturing processes, and quality control procedures. Provide regular progress reports to management. Foster effective communication and collaboration across different departments and stakeholders involved in the NPI process. Act as a liaison between engineering, technical, manufacturing, planning and other teams. Requirements A qualification in engineering or a related field is essential. Additional certifications in project management or quality management are desirable. Previous experience in NPI or product launch activities, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage resources, and meet deadlines. Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement. Understanding of manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and quality control. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles. Proficiency in using project management and collaboration tools. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality results. Flexibility and adaptability to navigate through changing priorities and requirements Proficient in the use of SolidWorks 3D CAD.
