are now looking for a skilled Software Developer as we look to expand our existing product portfolio.
Through extensive maritime experience,
GTMaritime
delivers email, data transfer, cyber solutions and software deployment optimized for your vessel along with 24/7 support to ensure you are always connected.
Our solutions provide seamless integration with shore-based solutions including Microsoft 365 and SharePoint which can be managed via our single fleetwide management dashboard. All are provided with no commitments, flexible monthly billing and free trials.
Job Purpose
To develop the software and tools to help world-class products and services based on user needs and business objectives. You will assess user needs, design a solution and deliver working software through development stages and into production, from where you will contribute to its continuous improvement.
This will require you to be able to manage your own time and coordinate with other people in the team including other developers, QA engineers and systems engineers, who are collaborating on that development project with you.
Main Duties
Plan, write, maintain, test and document code for
GTMaritime
applications and platforms. Code will adhere to internal coding standards.
Function as an integral part of the development team, actively contributing towards the development of our tools, services and platforms.
Review and contribute on a regular basis to the ongoing improvement of team practices and approaches with a view to making the team more effective and improving our service delivery.
Key Skills
Essential:
3+ years’ experience in a similar role
PHP (vanilla PHP, although experience with Laravel, or similar frameworks are welcome)
SQL (MySQL/MariaDB)
HTML/CSS/JavaScript (E.g. jQuery)
Good understanding of OOP principles
Apache or Nginx web server
Desirable:
Knowledge of SvelteJS
Roundcube experience (web mail) – customization for authentication, data privacy, branding, UI, etc.
Unit testing
Continuous Integration
TCP/IP comms
AWS services (Lambda, S3, SQS, DynamoDB)
Computer Science degree (or similar)
Attributes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Good written and oral communication skills
Attention to detail
Keen to learn new skills
