Product Systems Engineer ETL Systems Ltd: ETL Systems has been at the forefront of RF design and manufacturing for over 35 years. It designs and builds essential elements of critical satellite communications infrastructure. ETL’s rapid growth and success have been recognised at the UK's highest level, with the company winning three Queen’s Awards for Enterprise in International Trade. As a testament to that success, the top 20 satellite operators and teleports in the world utilise ETL’s products. Around the world, 75% of NATO governments use ETL Systems equipment to protect their citizens. Today, the company offers a full suite of solutions between the antenna and the modem for both the uplink and downlink chains. In 2019, ETL expanded its range to include instrumentation and measurement equipment for the set up and testing of RF chains through its acquisition of Atlantic Microwave Ltd. Role Overview: The product systems engineer will play a vital role in growing and enhancing ETL’s product portfolio by considering the development life cycle in terms of requirements and design intent. You will bring a strong eye for detail, passion for product development, and a background in product development and systems engineering theory. You will be involved from initialisation through the design process to manufacturing, deployment and sustainability. This role will provide a technical anchorage and backbone for product development projects, to improve efficiencies of current processes and realise successful outcomes to stakeholder expectations. You will actively support the head of systems in growing and shaping this new team within engineering to add value and drive quality to engineering output. The Ideal Candidate: Key Role Responsibilities: Scope the overall needs for the product Interpret, define, manage product/system requirements from internal/external stakeholders Leadership and guidance of technical integration between engineering disciplines as required Lead high level gate reviews, ensuring structured and efficient progress Prototype hardware/software integration Validation testing Technical risk management Product qualification/certification (internal and external facilities) Product supersession (PCN) High level block diagrams Product/Systems connectivity information Top level BOM structuring and management Documentation Desired Skills/Qualifications/Experience: Degree or commensurate experience in engineering discipline, with industry experience in product design Broad technical knowledge across SatComms/RF/Electronics/Mech/Software Requirements capture/management using Jama Connect or similar Effective communicator, verbal, visual and written using industry standard applications Effective Team and Project management Dynamic approach to problem solving and decision making, drawing on multidisciplinary engineering knowledge.
