General Summary:

This position reports to the Head of Performance Engineering or their designee and is located in Banbury, UK. The core responsibility of the role will provide strategic support for trackside events including all FIA Formula 1 championship races and some test events from either trackside or the Factory Race Support Room. Key Responsibilities:

Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments. Support of events, including all FIA Formula 1 Championship races, from either trackside or the Factory Race Support Room. Pre-event simulations and reports, in-event support, and post-race analysis. Competitor Analysis both during a race weekend and between events, aiding and assisting other departments if applicable. Improve existing tools and help develop the direct the strategy group. Numerical and Statistical analysis of data. Development of the existing tools used in strategy operations and procedures. Researching and implementing new analysis, methodologies, software tools and techniques for future developments. Assisting with pitstop analysis (both competitor and team), analysing data and provide detailed feedback to the pit crew. Take ownership of the Race Strategy systems, making sure they are set up and running correctly and troubleshooting any issues that may occur. Follow all safety regulations in all venues. Other duties as assigned by the Head of Performance Engineering or their designee. Education and Work Experience:

A Masters or PhD level degree in a STEM discipline. Experience in data analysis, numerical and statistical methodologies and their applications. Strong problem solving, logical thinking with research and reporting skills are essential. At least 3 years’ experience within a Formula 1 motorsport environment, including significant strategy experience. Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

Significant technical experience of Race Strategy. Experience of data analysis preferably using ATLAS. Experience of competition analysis using SBG RaceWatch. Strong understanding of vehicle & tyre performance. Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations, whilst prioritising and managing the workload efficiently. Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels. A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment. A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential. Equipment and Applications:

Experience in programming (MATLAB, Python and/or C#) would be beneficial. Experience with databases, both in creation and management desirable. Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritise within a high pressure, time-sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require extensive international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends. This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. The work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
