Job Summary
The field engineer is responsible for the installation and maintenance of custom machines (material handling & fastening systems) at the Preston workshop & mainly at customer plants. He is focused on quality and safety.
12-month fixed-term contract with extension option.
Remuneration: £34,800 per annum less deductions for Tax, National Insurance and other contributions as agreed.
Responsibilities
Set up machines at Preston for sign off with the customers.
Organise delivery to the end user.
Manage the installations in autonomy (prevention plans, lifting means, etc.).
Set up machines at customer sites.
Refine settings.
Diagnose and fix potential failures.
Basic Qualifications
Diploma in mechanical or electro-technical engineering.
Experience of 3 years at a similar position in an industrial environment.
Good skills with hand tools, power tools and good practices for mechanical, pneumatic and electric assembly.
Knowledge of special machines.
Office Pack.
SolidWorks CAD software only for visualization.
Forklift driving license / MEWP driving license / Working at height permit.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
Few trips: Preston, UK.
Punctual trips: other customers in the UK.
