The role:
The role involves working within the Engineering department to provide technical guidance and expertise in resolving quality issues. You will assist the Maintenance Engineering Manager in ensuring that all activities on the Tredegar site comply with current GMP standards, in line with company policies and business requirements.
The position requires full participation in planned preventative maintenance programs, adherence to SOPs, and completion of necessary documentation to ensure the plant is maintained at an optimal level. Additionally, you will support the Engineering Departments in ensuring all engineering activities on the Tredegar site meet GMP standards. The role also involves promptly attending to equipment breakdowns, practicing systematic fault diagnosis and repairs, and minimizing downtime and product loss.
This role features two shift patterns (morning and afternoon), an early finish on Fridays, and one night shift every four nights.
Main responsibilities:
Responsible for the maintenance and services all equipment and materials involved with to the production of product at PCI Tredegar.
Support the set-up and change over applicable production equipment as well as support the training of these tasks to appropriate PCI.
Undertake the maintenance and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment at the PCI Tredegar sites.
Fully contributing to planned preventative maintenance programs.
Monitor performance of critical utilities and process equipment in cGMP environment and perform or arrange necessary repairs, adjustments, calibrations, and preventative maintenance.
Liaise with third party contractors to arrange for planned preventative maintenance / rectification work required for breakdowns and to then ensure the prompt return of associated reports.
Without supervision promptly attending equipment breakdowns, practice systematic fault diagnosis and repairs in optimum time, ensuring minimum downtime and product loss.
To comply with company policies, local, UK and global regulatory requirements including internal and external Health, Safety and Environmental standards at all times whilst completing tasks.
Assist in coordinating equipment requisitions with internal departments for building services requirements and carry out equipment and furniture installations.
Understands the complex operation of pharmaceutical and provides technical support, advise and expertise to all operational departments and clients, i.e. size changes, machine speeds, optimum settings etc.
Will assist with registration and installation of new plant/equipment.
To support the design, procurement, introduction and management of production tooling.
Provide training, support and direction to trainees / apprentices / operation team when required.
Maintaining close co-operation with all other departments to attain continual improvement in performance and standards of quality and reliability.
Assist in the management of electrical energy consumption using monitoring techniques in line with environmental policy.
Maintain a degree of flexible working to support the business, when required, on weekends or after hours.
Requirements
Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
Strong background and practical experience in electrical engineering
Experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred but not essential
Proven ability to work effectively in an operational setting
Skilled in maintaining equipment and managing breakdowns
