We are now recruiting for a Manager for our Assembly Production teams. You will be reporting to the Operations Director and responsible for a team of employees ensuring that smooth workflow is achieved utilising labour and equipment effectively to efficiently produce a high-quality product. Assembly Manager

you will: Ensure up-to-date risk and COSHH assessments are in place and communicated to employees. Contribute to strategic decisions, including budget planning and production improvement. Improve processes to meet production schedules and maintain efficiency. Manage the introduction of new products, liaising with Design Engineering and ensuring manufacturability. Lead Production Engineers in implementing best practices and continuous improvement. Conduct daily team meetings, toolbox talks, and manage employee training. Analyse KPIs and implement improvements to enhance business performance. Set team targets, deadlines, and objectives; conduct performance reviews. Oversee new employee inductions and resolve employee grievances and disciplinary issues. Manage recruitment, absence, and employee performance in line with company policy. Monitor time and attendance, ensuring full shift compliance. Maintain equipment and facilities to high standards, applying TPM principles. Design jigs and fixtures using CAD for efficient manufacturing processes. Develop and implement production routes, procedures, and best practices. Provide technical support to the Assembly and Machine Shop teams. Ensure quality targets are met, leading Root Cause Analysis for problem resolution. Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and Lean manufacturing practices. What We Are Looking For Demonstrable management experience. Strong knowledge of assembly processes, production engineering, production planning, and quality control. Excellent organisational and planning skills. Strong team player with the ability to influence others and lead a team. Strong PC skills, able to use Microsoft office suite, including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Understanding of CAD. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written (in English). Thorough understanding of Health and safety requirements in the workplace. Possess a sound understanding of modern (Lean) manufacturing methods and assembly techniques. Demonstrable experience of utilising Continuous Improvement tools and techniques eg VSM, SMED, TPM, Kaizen, 5S, Error proofing. Conversant with Design for manufacture (DFM), Lean Manufacture Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE). Why IMI?
