Product Development Engineer Location: Tewkesbury Contract Umbrella: 6 months Our client specializes in the design, creation, and testing of bespoke aerospace components. They are searching for a skilled engineer to join the product development team based on-site in Tewkesbury on a fixed-term contract. You will be working on projects to develop commercial and military aircraft hydraulic components, typically used in flight control and engine control applications. The ideal candidate for the Product Development Engineer role would have: An understanding of mechanical and hydraulic principles, with a basic understanding of electrical theory and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Ability to develop and implement mitigation actions generated as outputs from FMEAs, Design Reviews, and Risk Reviews. Ability to write reports in support of product development & qualification e.g., Similarity and Analysis report, Development Test reports. A high level of Microsoft Word competency is required. Ability to conduct performance calculations based on defined methods and templates. A strong level of familiarity with Mathcad Prime (and experience converting worksheets from Mathcad 15 to Prime) is very desirable. Support of hydraulic testing, addressing queries that arise from development test technicians such as clarification of procedural steps, verification of data collected, and resolving issues that arise. Highly self-motivated and autonomous mindset is required for this role with strong communication skills. The role requires active face-to-face communication with individuals across the business. Ability to plan and schedule tasks against fixed deadlines.
