About the Role:

To provide engineering design solutions and through life engineering support to the JFD product range. Workload can vary from new product design to meet client or internal specifications through to supporting an existing client’s request to upgrade or change equipment in the field. Your Key Responsibilities will also include:

Day-to-Day Role:

Provide engineering design input to new products. Provide engineering support to the existing product range. Assess technical queries and provide engineering solutions to a wide-ranging products portfolio. Liaise with internal JFD departments such as sales, procurement, and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided in all instances. Sourcing suitable components and materials when required. Creation of part numbers and bill of materials. Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and reports. Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation. Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget. Adherence to engineering and company standards and processes. Site visits to other JFD offices and client assets as and when required. Accountability and responsibility as technical checker of drawings and documentation generated in support of the mechanical engineer role.

Focused on delivering cost efficient solutions on time and on budget. Ability to work effectively within a team structure, accept and understand management instruction and manage own and specified timescales effectively. What Do You Need?

Essential: Electronics/Electrical degree, or equivalent industry experience. Skilled in generating design calculations. Knowledge of design standards. Good knowledge of electrical systems design for EMC compliance. Previous product design experience, particularly DC systems. Experience with product lifecycle management system for generating and storage of engineering packages. This role will require the successful candidate to be able to gain UK Security Clearance (SC). You will need to have the right to live and work in the UK and also live within a commutable distance to Inchinnan, Glasgow. Working for Us:
