A Full Stack Senior Software Developer at BEAUTY BAY is the driving force for technical advancement of BEAUTY BAY front and back-end systems and responsible for the day-to-day running, enhancement and maintenance of the BEAUTY BAY technical estate. The Senior Software Developer remit covers working on any potential new functionality alongside bug fixes and general maintenance tasks for BEAUTY BAY. A Senior Software Developer is expected to not only be technically adept but also required to be able to work seamlessly in a team, contribute to technical sessions, and communicate technical concepts in non-technical language understood by the business. They are expected to work alongside other senior developers and support the Engineering Manager with the day-to-day running of the team and ensuring that good practices are adopted and followed amongst the wider team. A Senior Software Developer is expected to assist in creating well-architected systems using their own experience and understanding to design and implement efficient and elegant solutions to business problems and needs. A Senior Developer should be able to demonstrate ownership of everything they undertake and not only be able to surmise a solution to a problem but to be a completer finisher and drive a task through to completion and beyond. They should act as a mentor and technical SME to developers seeking advice and remain approachable for other BEAUTY BAY employees coming to the development team for queries. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for spec’ing and adding new features to BEAUTY BAY front ends. Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of BEAUTY BAY front ends. Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of BEAUTY BAY APIs and services. Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of BEAUTY BAY back office systems. Responsible for upkeep and maintenance of 3rd party integrations (feeds, SaaS platforms). Ensure good practices are followed and standardized across the team. Work closely with CloudOps team to blend infrastructure and website activities. Act as a technical subject matter expert. Skills/Experience/Knowledge Needed: Modern CSS and SASS experience. AWS experience/Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, e.g., serverless. Good working knowledge of Node and Node APIs. Experience working in a full stack environment. An understanding of agile delivery approaches, software craftsmanship best practices, and experience of developing software within a Micro-Service architecture and knowledge of when to utilize. Desire to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to adapt to fast-changing requirements. Ability to take ownership of an extensive proprietary technology estate. Desire to get involved in architectural designs and decisions for new projects. Desire to assist in running the wider engineering team. Experience in an e-commerce environment. Experience with large e-commerce platforms such as Shopify.
