Role Overview

As a ‘Fibre to the Home’ FTTH Engineer you will be working on the Openreach Fibre Network providing Fibre broadband services to residential premises.

You will be responsible for the installation of FTTH broadband services and will need to provide a high level of service. Your quality of work and having a positive customer interaction will be paramount.

Responsibilities and Duties

Carrying out external and internal cabling work.

Comfortable with working at heights up to 15 metres, including working on telegraph poles and ladders.

Delivering professional and quality customer service

Splicing fibre and testing at multiple points throughout the installation

Self-auditing work to ensure it meets required standards.

Ensuring all activities are carried out in line with Health and Safety legislation standards, including carrying out daily checks to ensure safe to work.

Maintenance of a clean and tidy environment at all times.

Work in all types of weather conditions. Requirements

A Full UK Driving License is essential due to the field-based nature of the role; candidates must have held this license for 1 year and have a maximum of 6 points.

Full training will be provided to the right candidate; however, candidates with experience working on the BT Openreach network and holding NRSWA Street Works qualifications are desirable.

Be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and clients.

Proactive in the resolution of engineering obstacles.

Carry out work in an efficient and timely manner.

Dedication to delivering high levels of customer service.

Flexibility to undertake work outside of core working hours.

Competent in the use of smart devices and app technology.
