Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility An opportunity has arisen in the Engineering organisation for a Software Engineer in the PC Core, Displays and Miscellaneous Interface team. We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and tenacious individual educated to degree level in a Computer Science/Engineering or other related field or equivalent work experience in a Software Engineering environment. The successful applicant will work as part of a highly motivated team striving to meet all quality, cost, and schedule targets across a range of devices, including Embedded Control Boards, Displays, Touchscreens, PC Motherboards (System Firmware, Drivers), Audio devices, USB Hubs. Main responsibilities shall include, but will not be restricted to: Design, develop and document software, firmware and drivers to control NCR ATM devices. Design, develop and document test procedures and software to validate functionality. Software unit test, and supporting integration and systems testing. Regular progress reporting on schedule, quality & size of change. Support for existing devices through problem investigation, identification and resolution. Basic Qualifications Degree qualified in Software or Electronic Engineering. Experience developing Software in C/C++/C#. Windows Win 32 programming. Software design and methodologies. Software configuration management. Moderate level of electronics knowledge. Preferred Qualifications Experience developing software or embedded firmware in C/C++. Knowledge of automated test processes and techniques. Knowledge of ARM, PIC & MIPS processor technologies (or equivalent). Knowledge of USB specifications/software stack and HID interface. Development environments, including RTOS and embedded systems. Knowledge of Symmetric and Asymmetric cryptographic frameworks. Electronic design knowledge.
