Description

Are you an experienced SQL Developer looking for a (remote-first) opportunity within a growing professional services firm? Then please read on!

This role is part of the maturing of our IT Organisation, adding specialisation and technical knowledge into the Applications and Development team to help us support our IT project portfolio and current technologies.

What you will be doing:

Design, develop, test, and optimise SQL-based solutions Collaborate with a team of developers, designers, and project managers to identify business requirements and translate them into technical specifications Perform data analysis and ensure data quality by performing data validation and quality checks Use DevOps for workload management and version control Monitor reporting performance and optimise solutions to ensure maximum efficiency and scalability Ensure compliance with data privacy and security standards Provide technical support and troubleshoot reporting-related issues Create visualisations and reports for requested projects Conduct unit testing/test-driven development processes and troubleshooting Evaluate and improve existing SQL-based solutions Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in SQL development. Key Tasks Become familiar with the applications, integrated solutions, backlogs and current roadmaps as well as the supported business processes Participate in Agile Ceremonies. Begin to undertake testing tasks, progressing to basic modifications and creations of features and then on to more complex developments. This will be achieved by: Developing and supporting new and existing SQL applications and integrations across the organisation’s application architecture within our Agile Delivery Processes Proposing and implementing solutions to business requirements that align with our product roadmap and architecture Supporting Change and Release Management processes as part of the software development lifecycle Working as part of a team to transform the Application Architecture of the organisation and formalise best practice standards and methodologies.

What you will need:

A minimum of 5 years demonstrable track record of successful delivery of complex technical applications and services.

You will need to have previous experience with the below tech stack: Extensive experience in Microsoft SQL development, including Integration Services (SSIS), Reporting Services (SSRS)/PowerBI, Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake & Analytics) Strong knowledge of T-SQL programming, Power Query and DAX Experience with SQL Server both on-premises and cloud-based Experience with database schema design and implementation Experience with Visual Studio Strong knowledge of ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools, such as SSIS Experience in data preparation and data warehousing projects Experience with web services and APIs Experience with DevOps and version control systems Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Knowledge of data modelling and data architecture Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Experience with the following would be beneficial: DevOps Automated Testing Microsoft Fabric Microsoft .Net
