As part of our client's growth plans, they are seeking to expand their Pre-Contracts team. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-profile turnkey M&E projects across a variety of sectors. In this exciting role, you'll develop solutions, price them and create detailed proposals. Collaborating closely with the client's engineering teams, project managers, clients, and suppliers, you'll visit sites across the UK, engaging with various industry sectors. The diverse range of industries, customers and solutions ensures that no two days are the same.

The Role

Key Purpose:

To efficiently service and progress prospects and enquiries, leading to new business generation through the creation of technical, costed proposals.

As a pivotal member of the Pre-Contract team, you will: Coordinate with the broader Pre-Contract/Sales team to streamline operations and proposals. Build and maintain solid relationships with both new and existing clients, engaging in regular meetings with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers. Understand and evaluate client processes, requirements, business needs, and budgets. Appraise both specific and standard specifications to tailor our client's approach to client needs. Manage Requests for Quotations (RFQs) for equipment and service scopes and assess supplier quotes for completeness. Identify and evaluate potential project risks early in the process. Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure project feasibility and accuracy in proposals. Develop detailed cost estimates and prepare robust written proposals and tender returns. Participate in project program preparation, contract opening meetings, and incorporate project feedback to enhance future proposals. Maintain and update the company's CRM system with key client and project data.

The Candidate

A minimum of 5 years' practical experience in mechanical and/or hydraulic engineering. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other relevant software applications. Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record in customer-facing roles. A motivated, conscientious approach to work, capable of leading initiatives and working collaboratively within a team. Tendering Experience would be very beneficial. A proactive stance on Health and Safety and the ability to integrate these principles into project planning and execution.
