We are HMGCC, His Majesty's Government Communications Centre, the engineering specialists at the heart of the UK’s national security. If you’ve got the skills we’re looking for, you’ll find a place in our diverse team.

Your Role: You’ll collaborate with fellow engineers in our advanced manufacturing facility, using the latest technology as you work on projects that protect national security. With your wide variety of technical skills, you’ll program machinery including Jet/Stencil printers, Pick and place systems, AOI, and X-Ray machines. You’ll also carry out hand-fit and rework tasks, profile ovens, and setup SMT assembly equipment. What’s more, you’ll be hands-on in producing and building products in both NPI and production environments. And you’ll be on hand to give advice to design engineers and mentor junior staff.

What You Need: You’ll have experience in setting up, programming, and profiling automated assembly equipment. You’ll also bring experience in equipment maintenance scheduling, delivery, and an understanding of Gerber and CAD files. Your adaptability and flexibility will be vital as change is a huge part of our organisation. As will your mindset of continuous improvement. Importantly, you’ll work well with others and enjoy being part of a team.

What We Offer: With significant opportunities to further your learning, you’ll also have access to a range of ways to grow your career: from internal courses to a distant learning degree. Plus, you’ll be part of a welcoming, inclusive environment where people from all kinds of backgrounds - with different lived experiences and perspectives - come together. As well as a range of sports and social societies for you to join and meet new people, we’re proud to have a number of affinity groups including disability, LGBTQIA+, and ethnic minority networks. It’s all to ensure you feel comfortable bringing your whole self to work. And, you’ll also get access to our excellent on-site facilities, including free 24-hour gym, free parking, and an on-site nursery.

About HMGCC: We are HMGCC, the engineering specialists at the heart of the UK’s national security. We work with the national security community, UK government, academia, private sector partners, and international allies to bring engineering ingenuity to the national security mission, creating tools and technologies that drive us ahead and help to protect the nation. We invest in our people, not only with training but also support throughout your career with us; to allow you to reach your full potential at work, as well as enjoy the work/life balance many aspire to.
