About this position: We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Body Manufacturing Engineer to work for a prestigious Automotive client in the Woking area. Job Responsibilities:

A successful Body Assembly Manufacturing Engineer will use his/her process improvement experience to quantitatively assess current production/business system performance and execute change to reduce cost and optimize capacity. This role demands excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as a holistic understanding of manufacturing operations. Manufacturing engineers will be responsible for continuously improving and developing the manufacturing processes that our client’s production team members use to build their cars. This position will be responsible for accepting new model build processes from our clients Future Manufacturing Engineering teams and developing them within Series production. This includes continuous process improvement, quality lead investigations and industrial engineering tools and techniques. Update and control the following deliverables for existing series models: Process sequencing, documentation, and product traceability methodologies. Update process documentation and PFMEA’s and Quality Control Plans. Implement and control Lean Manufacturing and error proofing strategies, validate load paths, tool access and ergonomics – series models. Hours per Car generation & reporting. Support Future Man Eng. Team in the development & delivery of Body in White tooling solutions. Line balancing and manpower allocation. Familiarity with automated manufacturing equipment. Provide leadership to cross-functional teams and manufacturing engineers regarding manufacturing process and capability. Facility layout & utilisation. Experience Required: A degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or similar (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience in a similar role. Specification and procurement of major assembly equipment. Planning and execution of vehicle programs. Complex vehicle systems. Vehicle assembly processes. Body assembly processes. Identifying resolutions for product related issues, ensuring all quality targets are achieved. Implementation of safe working practices. Proficiency with CATIA, 3D experience is desired, but not required.
