Up to £40,000 – £45,000 (DOE) The Company A market-leading IT Managed Service Provider who specialise in software-defined and traditional network services are searching for a Network Support Engineer to join their Leeds office on a hybrid and flexible working basis. The business has grown by developing a market strategy that makes them the go-to consultancy for large and complexed network infrastructure projects. They are a specialised Cisco partner, delivering the latest solutions across software-defined networks, security, and cloud solutions, working with the latest innovative technologies whilst providing a solutions-based outcome for their clients. Because of these partnerships, they offer their employees an abundance of training, support with earning certifications such as Cisco’s CCNP, and opportunities to work with the latest technologies on the market. Network Support Engineer Role and Responsibilities As the Network Support Engineer, you will work as part of the Operations team, supporting customer’s complex network environments. Your daily tasks will include: Troubleshooting and resolving 2nd line / 3rd line support escalations – R&S, Security, Data Centre. Managing all network infrastructure including monitoring, proactive support, troubleshooting. Customer facing incident and problem resolution. Act as point of escalation for junior engineers and the customers. Proactively handle support cases assigned to you. Support project team with resolving service issues. Working with both technical and non-technical staff as the key point of contact, communicating clearly. Monitor, investigate, and diagnose any issues with service partners and customers. Ensure SLA’s are met, documentation is correct, and policies and procedures are in place. Skills & experience required for the Network Support Engineer Hands-on experience working within a network support position, one or more of the following LAN, WAN, WLAN, Data Centre, Security. Opportunity to upskill in SD-WAN, SDN, Cisco ACI, DNA. Have experience working in a dedicated network support position. Previous experience monitoring, investigating, and diagnosing issues. Have an understanding of network protocols. Have an understanding of MPLS, in particular, VPLS and VLL. Understand firewall policies and set up of VPN’s. Must be able to interphase with both technical, and non-technical staff.
