Senior Full Stack Engineer

Hybrid - 3 days in the office, 2 days remote
As Zapp enters its next stage of growth, we seek a Full Stack Engineer with an appetite for ambiguity, a willingness to roll up their sleeves, and the leadership skills to guide small teams towards high-quality deliverables.
The Operations Tech team at Zapp owns vital services that power our critical frontline operations. We ensure smooth operations between our suppliers, distribution centres, Zapp stores, and our end-customers. In a typical backend role, you might never get to interact with your end-customer or witness the impact that your work can have on productivity and efficiency. In contrast, we'll allow you to physically visit our distribution centres and Zapp stores to see first-hand how your work can drive KPIs such as worker productivity, order accuracy, and inbounding/putaway speed. Main Responsibilities Work closely with our designer and product manager to propose and build the next generation of our operational tooling. Work closely with internal/external teams who rely on the data we own/produce data we need. Become a domain expert in our DC/store/supplier operations. Increase the quality of the commits pushed to production. Collaborate and work closely with your manager to grow and maintain a mature team of engineers. Define critical KPIs to monitor and review performance. Be the voice of Engineering in quarterly and annual planning. Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and convey them into technical solutions. Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in backend/frontend development. Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of front-end systems through thorough testing and optimisation. The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following 5+ years of backend experience with Node. 3+ years of frontend experience with React. Experience with data design and database architecture. Working with SQL & NoSQL databases. Experience in DevOps in AWS or GCP. Nice to Have Serverless architecture. Working with event-driven systems.
