We are now recruiting for a Production Engineer to assume responsibility for the maintaining and improving of our manufacturing processes internally. You will support and train our operators and production engineers, preparing proposals for new equipment and enabling the successful manufacture and testing of various valves for the Oil & Gas, Nuclear and Marine sectors. In addition to this, as our Senior Production Engineer you will be responsible for: Supporting and improving machining and assembly production techniques Providing technical assistance and problem-solving solutions to the production team Programming and creating set-up sheets for multi-axis CNC machines, including 5-axis turn-mill, sliding head turn-mill, and 5-axis milling Developing solutions using standard tooling and production methods Designing new tools and work-holding solutions as needed Identifying and resolving defects through root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions Leading continuous improvement activities to reduce waste and improve processes Reviewing product and quality costs, respond to NCRs, and implement change requests Designing jigs and fixtures using CAD (preferably 3D) for efficient production Monitoring production output, implementing improvement actions to achieve world-class productivity Liaising with design engineering to review new products and conduct PFMEAs Leading small engineering teams on projects, ensuring efficient workload delivery Applying lean principles and VAVE to optimize production processes and minimize costs Assessing new machinery and equipment needs, prepare CAPEX requests, and manage procurement projects Liaising with customers during quotation, pre-production, and manufacturing phases What We Are Looking For Previous experience in a manufacturing machining role. Strong Microsoft Suite & Cam use. Strong experience of continuous improvement and running projects (including an understanding of cost saving). HNC-qualified or working towards a Mechanical/Production Engineering qualification with relevant experience Strong understanding of modern manufacturing methods and process evaluation Experience designing jigs and fixtures using CAD (preferably 3D) Familiar with Design for Manufacture (DFM), Lean, VAVE, and Value Engineering Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external customers Calm under pressure, with excellent communication and organisational skills Flexible, deadline-driven, and determined to see tasks through Strong team player with the ability to influence and collaborate Experienced in manufacturing processes to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery targets Practical experience in machining or assembly environments Why IMI?
