Your role in the team Allstate Protection Plans (serviced by SquareTrade) is expanding our existing team to support the company’s rapidly growing merchant portfolio globally by building and enhancing software in the Claims Payout Product. APP specializes in extended warranty services for consumer electronics and appliances. The APP Delorean Engineering team is based in Northern Ireland and is playing a critical role in developing capabilities that help drive key financial business processes. Our leading-edge agile team in the engineering group is looking for motivated and energetic Software Engineers who are eager to learn and make big changes to these mission-critical applications. You’ll have the opportunity to work with the engineering leads, product and design teams, as well as other developers and QAs to deliver applications which are scalable, secure, robust, and highly performing. We adopt microservices architecture, distributed technologies, latest frontend frameworks, and sophisticated monitoring tools. Key Responsibilities Actively participate in requirements gathering sessions Translate product requirements into technical solutions through design discussions Evaluate and recommend technologies, tools, or engineering best practices Write clean code with plenty of unit and integration tests Troubleshoot issues, including those related to performance and scalability Support your deliverables in production Adopt Agile process Essential Skills All applicants must demonstrate they have a legal right to work in the UK for employment at Allstate. Proficient and demonstrative experience in developing software applications using Java and Spring framework Experienced in REST web services and integration Experience with database technologies and SQL Experience with web related technologies, such as JavaScript and Angular/React Desirable Skills Proficient in unit and integration testing with Junit, Spock, and other frameworks Experienced in at least one development tool, such as IntelliJ Familiar with code versioning tools such as Github Familiar with build pipeline such as Jenkins Job posting closing date: 15th of January 2025 #LI - EM2 Joining our team isn’t just a job — it’s an opportunity.
