Laboratory Information System Manager IQVIA Laboratories Livingston, Scotland We’re currently looking for a Laboratory Information System (LIS) Manager to manage a small team in Livingston. The team works primarily in the Ultra LIS (Laboratory Information System), which is our main laboratory system with sample accessioning from multiple ordering systems, with all configurations in conjunction with the Ultra external vendor, except test code database and user security which are handled by other teams. This involves instrument interfaces, client system HL7 interfaces, and most of the troubleshooting. Many instrument interfaces also include a middleware product called Instrument Manager requiring set-up and rule configuration in addition to Ultra. The team works closely with many laboratory departments, with the largest being Chemistry & Hematology, and also with both LIS team members and other laboratory staff in regions in our Asia and America sites. What to expect: Manages a team of professional-level employees. Manages and coordinates the support & configuration of the majority of aspects of the Ultra LIS (Laboratory Information System) for the UK region. Develops and communicates plans and priorities to meet team performance and results requirements. Establishes team processes, goals, and procedures and tracks performance. Informs and influences decision-making at the management level. Provides coaching and guidance on job performance and career development to direct reports. Collaborates with business leaders, end users, other IT departments, and software vendors to develop and provide appropriate support strategies for regional and global business LIS applications. Provides technical support, consulting, and system-related analysis to project teams, customers, business leaders, and other teams for regional and global LIS business applications. Interacts with software vendors, Infrastructure services, and/or Applications Development to restore service and/or correct core problems. Communicates IT issues to business units at various levels of seniority. Manages and coordinates the implementation of internal, external, and off-the-shelf LIS business applications with all IT and business groups. Coordinates with internal and external service providers in incident, problem, and change management, capacity planning, and troubleshooting, representing the interests of supported business groups. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Information Management or business-related fields preferred. Prior LIS IT experience required, and experience with the Ultra LIS preferred. Prior Laboratory experience preferred.
