We are seeking a Lead Data Strategist to join our Field Engineering organisation in EMEA. In this role, you will work side-by-side with Databricks’ strategic customers, as well as partner with regional leaders and account teams. You will act as a visionary and an innovative industry expert and have the opportunity to apply your successful track record of realising Data & AI transformation within large global institutions. You will drive global, cross-industry adoption of the Lakehouse architecture through sustained thought leadership at the CXO-level. To serve as a trusted advisor to our top customers as well as providing application and experience of large scale data transformation to guarantee success using the Databricks platform. Support and guarantee data transformation success through people and process change and evolve the organisation to adopt the change. This is a high impact position with responsibilities including supporting strategic sales opportunities with account teams, closely following industry trends and direction to shape engineering and product priorities, and regularly evangelising Databricks solutions and how we can lead customers through Data & AI transformation at industry conferences, trade shows, and with industry press and analysts. It is a unique role for the well-rounded technologist at heart with a leadership background in data transformation who possesses deep industry knowledge in this space and a passion for evangelising. The impact you will have: Have direct involvement with our most strategic customers and partners building trusted relationships with the c-suite, technical stakeholders, participate in executive briefing sessions and lead co-innovation projects. Translate Voice of the Customer to help deliver the best of breed products and solutions to our Industry customers. Be the voice of the customer identifying industry trends, functional requirements and technical gaps to partner with product management for prioritisation. Help to drive repeatability by creating Databricks’s industry specific technical selling assets (c-suite guides and lessons, reference architectures, use cases, demos, customer case studies and solutions). Collaborate with counterparts in Global and Regional System Integration partners to jointly define Databricks centric offerings. Contribute and participate in industry marketing activities such as webinars, conferences, blogs etc. Interact with our regional go to market leaders and account teams to ensure we are the strategic partner guiding our customers through their Data & AI transformation. Work closely with regional sales and technical leaders to elevate the account strategy to support the c-suite through Data & AI transformation. Regularly coach and enable regional account teams on how to engage the C-suite. Through your extensive C-suite network, build new connections with customers’ leadership teams. Collaborate with our industry go-to-market team to prioritise industry-specific capabilities in future product roadmaps and drive Databricks’ industry sector product vision into the market. What we look for: Experience leading Data & AI transformation within at least one company, ideally at the C level. Well-versed in the overall challenges impacting the various industry verticals around security, compliance, legal and regulations to make sure we are current with our solutions. Broad range of experience with strategy or execution of technical and design direction, including large-scale database and/or data warehouse technology, ETL, analytics and public cloud technologies. Understanding of Data Science & Machine Learning concepts and applications to the business. Prominent in CIO Fora and CDO forums (or similar) with good C level connections across EMEA. Outstanding presentation skills to both technical and executive audiences, whether impromptu on a whiteboard or using presentations and demos. Experience working with C-level executives and an ability to quickly establish credibility with senior leadership. Bachelor’s Degree required, Masters Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or related fields, or equivalent experience preferred. About Databricks Databricks is the data and AI company.
