Senior Data Analyst | Advanced Technology | Welwyn Garden City | Hybrid (2 days office) Ocado Technology is powering the future of online retail across the globe through disruptive innovation and automation. Join us to create world-class systems at the intersection of robotics and IoT, cloud platforms, big data, machine learning, software development, and beyond. We're constantly reinventing ourselves, learning fast, evolving our craftsmanship and taking risks as we strive to fulfil our mission to change the way the world shops. We enable some of the world’s most forward-thinking retailers to do grocery online profitably, scalably and sustainably. Over the past two decades, we have developed a wide technology estate that includes robotics, AI and machine learning, simulation, forecasting and edge intelligence which all form part of our game changing ‘Ocado Smart Platform’ product. We champion a value-led culture to get our teams working at their very best and to help create a collaborative working environment that our people love. Core values of Trust, Autonomy, Craftsmanship, Collaboration and Learn Fast help drive our innovative culture. About the role: The Senior Analyst will play a pivotal role in uncovering and delivering critical insights that will influence the strategic direction of our products and services within the Robotic Software and Machine Learning department. This department focuses on empowering robotics teams across Product and Engineering by designing, developing, and maintaining data products such as reports, dashboards, and models. The role reports directly to the Analytics Team Lead. Role and responsibilities include: Lead the creation, monitoring, and implementation of analytical data products, including key metrics, dashboards, and in-depth analyses. Contribute to the development of analytics engineering pipelines in dbt, ensuring robust functionality and troubleshooting issues across the data product portfolio. Build and nurture strong relationships with stakeholders, fostering a data-driven culture. Advocate for compelling, impactful analyses while confidently challenging strategies or approaches when necessary. Develop a deep understanding of the business's commercial challenges in robotics and recognize how your technical solutions can address them effectively. Deliver high-quality results with speed and precision. Present your findings with clarity, transforming complex data into compelling narratives that drive informed decisions. What we’re looking for: Advanced SQL skills and experience using Python for data analysis. Proficiency with tools such as Looker, Tableau, or Power BI to create compelling, actionable visualisations. A business-focused mindset with the ability to contextualise data and drive strategic, data-informed decisions. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to convey complex insights clearly and effectively. A self-starter with a talent for identifying challenges and opportunities independently, without requiring close supervision. What Will Make You Stand Out: Expertise in prescriptive and predictive analytics, demonstrating a strong ability to solve complex business problems. Practical experience working with data using Python for analysis and solution development. Familiarity with cutting-edge tools such as dbt, Looker, and BigQuery. Pension scheme (various options available including employer contribution matching up to 7%).
