Technical Architect - Banking
in Sheffield and/or remote for our growing team in the UK. Job overview: As a Technical Architect, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing IT systems within our organization. Your role will involve bridging the gap between technical and business aspects, overseeing projects from conception to completion, and building a number of solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement IT systems, taking into account infrastructure, storage, and networking. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and requirements. Evaluate and select appropriate technologies and platforms. Define and document the overall solution architecture. Ensure system performance, scalability, and security. Provide technical guidance to development teams. Identify and mitigate risks related to the solution. Participate in continuous improvement efforts. Skills: Expertise in systems design and knowledge in technical architecture. Strong knowledge of IT, including a comprehensive understanding of infrastructure technologies such as Storage, Network (N/W), Active Directory (AD), Unix, and on-premises & enterprise technologies. Proficiency in Word/MS Office, and Visio. Knowledge of Linux & Windows systems, especially in the areas of Storage & Backup, would be beneficial. Awareness of cybersecurity - however, please note that cybersecurity recovery is not covered in this role. Experience in Banking environments. Ability to solve problems creatively. Balance of technical expertise and business acumen, along with strong and effective communication and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with Veritas & ComVault plus other multiplatform tools - beneficial. Mainframe background - beneficial.
