Responsibilities of the Key Account Manager role, Marlow
Develop a sales forecast, set business development, and key account strategies for the assigned accounts in line with the business strategy. Understand customers' key business requirements to determine current and future business needs. Maintain an effective business relationship with key customers and prospects. Prospect, sell, and secure orders/receivables from existing and prospective customers, using a relationship-based approach to key account penetration. Develop a key account strategy for existing customers that enhances existing revenue and margins by introducing new products that expand the business relationship, optimizing pricing & repeat orders. Introduce innovations to existing and prospective customers, and act as a key advisor in helping them select solutions best suited to their needs. Coordinate sales efforts with marketing, logistics, accounting, and technical support to deliver projects on time. Increase sales volumes with maximum profitability in the assigned accounts. Look for continuous improvement. Network and use marketing and business resources to discover new prospects and determine their potential. Develop business proposals that clearly and effectively position the value-added products and services. Manage CRM to ensure data reflects results, potential, and activity. Participate in industry events, trade shows, and company functions. Supervise, develop, mentor, and motivate staff, take an active lead in a specific sales office, and provide overall management support. Develop the right resources for both catching and delivering the business. Report key results to corporate officers. Control account costs within established budgets. Serve as a sales expert, owner of key accounts and strategic sales results. What skills and experience do I need for the role?
Ideally a graduate with a minimum of 5 years B2B sales experience. Key account management ideally in the beauty packaging sector. Having strong communication, negotiation, and business acumen skills is critical. IT tools and platforms that enable sales success, such as CRM, are a plus.
