We are currently seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to join our operation based in Hatfield. The successful candidates will have an opportunity to work a wide variety of projects in support of our Rail and Telecommunications business units. Working as part of the team structure, the candidate shall, as necessary, deliver design and support from initial concept planning through to detailed design. Successful applicants will have the following: Network Rail Standards, Railway Group Standards and CDM regulations Awareness and understanding of current British Standards Familiarity and experience with Points Heating system design Ability to fulfil the duties of Contract Responsible Engineer in line with CDM regulations & NR standards Qualified to Degree, or higher level, in Electrical Engineering Membership of relevant professional body Skilled using software including: Bentley, Microstation v8i, ProjectWise, eB, and Amtech Roles & Responsibilities: The Electrical Design Engineer shall report to the Design Manager Prepare detailed technical specifications throughout GRIP stages Review and check documentation Produce 2D/3D CAD drawings Complete cable calculations in conjunction with documents/drawings Assist with client technical queries Prepare risk assessments Produce detailed programmes to provide time scales and milestones for the projects Production of Work Package Plans and Task Briefs Prepare operation and maintenance manuals Conduct site surveys Attend client meetings IDC reviews as per project requirements About us: Global Rail Construction has an outstanding reputation for employee retention and our success lies in the quality and diversity of our people and our commitment to training and developing our staff.
