Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time (37.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday) Band 4 Specialist Clinical Support Worker to come and join CLCH NHS Trust's Adult Bladder and Bowel Specialist Team in Hertfordshire. Prior specialist knowledge in bladder and bowel healthcare is not essential but a passion to deliver a compassionate and professional service that brings dignity and care to patients is. The main responsibility of a Band 4 Specialist Clinical Support Worker is to work with the team to assess and provide clinical care to patients in clinic, over the telephone or in their own homes (including residential care homes). As this does mean some travel within West Hertfordshire,

candidates will need to be a car driver. You will be joining a friendly supportive team and a large NHS community Trust where professional guidance is readily available and personal and professional development is fully supported. Main duties of the job To work within the Adult Bladder & Bowel Care Service Specialist Team assisting with the provision of assessment and clinical care of a high standard to patients, with bladder and/or bowel dysfunction, in their own homes and Residential Care Homes. To support the registered nurses in the team with the delivery of bladder and bowel care training to trust staff and within other areas as required. Has undertaken The Care certificate Programme, or willingness to undertake the Care certificate programmed (this will be sponsored by the Trust). Desirable Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF - Level 3) or a recognized equivalent course GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths. Experience Essential Experience of working in a health or social care setting Experience of working in a community setting Experience of working as part of a team Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of databases Desirable Experience with the NHS patient information database (System One). Previous experience in bladder and bowel dysfunction. Previous experience in completing continence assessments. Previous experience in bladder scanning. Previous experience of assessing, fitting, and managing continence aids. Skills and Knowledge Essential Demonstrate an acceptable level of numeracy and literacy. An awareness of risk management. Knowledge of multi-agency services available and processes for referral Knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and the needs of vulnerable adults in relation to their health and well-being Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills Key Attributes Essential Car driver/ access to the use of a car.
