As a band 5 staff nurse you will be responsible for assessing babies' care needs and planning and implementing the care required using a safe and evidence-based approach. You will work alongside families to plan and evaluate care for their babies, offering expertise and experience of premature and sick newborns, teaching families to be able to deliver care where possible. Working with the team to stabilise sick infants, demonstrating the ability to recognise signs of deterioration and escalate accordingly, providing high dependency on our unit or Intensive Care until transfer to a level 3 unit. Communication with families and the multidisciplinary team, acting as an advocate for babies and their families. You will also be required to liaise with social care and have good documentation of conversations and events. About us
