Learning Support Mentor Role Overview:

Reeson is seeking a compassionate and proactive Learning Support Mentor to join a wonderful school team. The successful candidate will work closely with students across various age groups throughout the primary school, providing tailored support to overcome academic and personal challenges. This role is pivotal in promoting student engagement, resilience, and success.

Key Responsibilities for the Learning Support Mentor:

Student Support:

Provide individualized assistance to students, addressing both academic and emotional needs.

Collaboration:

Work alongside teachers to identify students requiring additional support and develop effective strategies.

Mentoring:

Conduct one-on-one and group mentoring sessions to enhance student engagement and resilience.

Behaviour Management:

Implement positive behaviour strategies to promote a conducive learning environment.

Progress Monitoring:

Track and report on student progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating with relevant stakeholders.

Resource Preparation:

Assist in the development and organisation of learning materials and resources.

Qualifications and Experience Required for the Learning Support Mentor:

Previous experience in an educational or youth support setting is essential.

Demonstrated ability to support students with diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.

Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to the dynamic needs of the school environment.

Desirable Attributes for the Learning Support Mentor:

Formal qualifications in education, child development, or a related field.

Experience with behaviour management and mentoring.

Proficiency in utilising educational technology and resources.
