Due to promotions within the team, we are pleased to share the opportunity for 2 new generalist SLTs to join us here at MYTT Adult SLT dept.; working across the stroke and acute wards. Prospective candidates are welcome to visit or make contact to discuss further. Interviews will be held on 24.01.25 at Pinderfields Hospital. This is a career enhancing opportunity for suitably qualified, skilled and dynamic SLTs. The post holders can be newly qualified or experienced SLTs but must be interested in working in hospital services; assessing and treating patients with both communication and swallow presentations. One post is for 37.5 hours per week and the other is for 30 hours per week. The post holders will work autonomously across both the acute and stroke ward settings. They will be involved in MDT meetings, caseload review meetings, SLT staff meetings, and service developments. Dysphagia caseload management skills are advantageous but dysphagia training can be provided. We have a very established and experienced SLT leadership team who specialize in areas across acute, head and neck, voice, community, stroke, and instrumental specialisms. We look forward to welcoming new colleagues into our friendly service. Main duties of the job

The role involves working with patients who have communication and swallow impairments due to a range of conditions, who are in the hospital setting. The role involves working across stroke, elderly, respiratory, oncology, and spinals for example, across Pinderfields and Dewsbury Hospitals. Regular supervision will be provided and you will have access to protected CPD time and training opportunities. There will also be a small amount of time ring-fenced for outpatient or home visit caseload work via community service pathways. Our service offers videofluoroscopy assessment across acute and community areas and we have an emerging FEES service. About us

We are an acute trust caring for over half a million people in Wakefield and Kirklees. Our 10,000 staff work in patients' homes, the community, and our three hospitals in Pontefract, Dewsbury, and Pinderfields (Wakefield). We prioritize our people and values so we can deliver the best possible care to patients. Our team is friendly, passionate, and innovative, always seeking better ways to work. We support work-life balance and foster a diverse, inclusive environment where everyone belongs. Our staff networks offer safe spaces to share ideas and concerns so we can increase awareness and appreciation of equality, diversity, and inclusion. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and especially encourage members of the LGBTQ+ community, ethnic minority groups, and people with disabilities or neurodivergence to apply, as they are currently underrepresented in the Trust. If you value caring, high standards, improvement, and respect, join the MY team to make a difference every day. Application guidance:

We understand that more applicants are using AI technology to help with their applications. While these tools can be useful, they cannot fully capture your skills, knowledge, and experience. It's important that you personalize your application. Relying solely on AI is not recommended, as it may reduce your chances of success.
