Complex Care Worker

to provide exceptional care for an individual with a range of complex healthcare needs, including 24-hour ventilation, tracheostomy management, and PEG feeding. The ideal candidate will have experience in providing person-centred care to individuals with complex conditions and a commitment to delivering high-quality support. Key Responsibilities

Tracheostomy & Ventilation Care:

Manage 24-hour ventilation and tracheostomy care, ensuring comfort and safety. Perform daily tracheostomy care, including suctioning, tape changes, and stoma dressing changes. Assist with monthly tracheostomy tube changes.

PEG Feeding:

Administer and monitor PEG feeding as per the care plan. Ensure appropriate maintenance of the PEG tube, including regular cleaning and checking for any issues. Observe for any signs of complications or discomfort related to feeding and report as necessary.

Respiratory Support:

Provide oxygen therapy using cylinders and concentrators as required. Support with cough assist and respiratory treatments. Monitor oxygen saturation and respond to changes in the patient’s condition.

Medications & Treatments:

Administer oral medications and nebulizers in accordance with the prescribed schedule.

Mobility & Transfers:

Assist with moving and handling, including using a hoist and standing transfer techniques. Provide support to minimize falls, particularly due to postural hypotension.

Personal Care:

Provide assistance with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Experience in complex care or similar healthcare settings, with experience in tracheostomy, PEG feeding, or respiratory care highly desirable. Ability to work as part of a team and independently, with excellent communication skills. Training in moving and handling, hoist experience preferred. Knowledge and experience with oxygen therapy, medication management, and respiratory treatments. A caring, patient, and professional attitude, with a passion for improving the quality of life for those in need. Must be flexible and willing to work shifts, including nights if required. Benefits
