Circa £23,500 per annum depending on experience

Contract/Hours:

Full time (working 37 hours a week) on a fixed term contract until 31 st

May 2026

A bit about the role

Action for Children's Floating Support service is based in Omagh with an outreach office in Enniskillen (which is where this role will be based) and covers the Omagh and Fermanagh areas.

The Floating Support Service is funded by Supporting People to provide assistance to young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and to young people Leaving Care aged 18-25. We develop individual, outcomes focused support plans with each young person to help them develop the skills, knowledge and confidence to live independently and to contribute positively to their community.

How you'll help to create brighter futures

Providing a responsive and flexible Service for young people aged 16-25 who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.

Delivering a creative, flexible and effective floating support service which meets the needs of those referred to the service.

Developing Individual Support plans which are focussed on the young person's needs and implementing aspects of the plan in accordance with the Floating Support Role.

Maintaining regular contact with the young person to support them in accordance with their assessed needs as well as providing practical assistance for them in arranging for setting up and maintaining their home.

Supporting the young person around benefits issues and assisting in application for benefits – e.g. housing, income support, etc. and providing advice and guidance in relation to life skills – e.g. budgeting, shopping, cooking, laundry.

Attending all reviews with the young person, preparing reports as required.

Let's talk about you

Ideally you will have:

Diploma Level 3 or equivalent in Social Care / Youth Work / Youth and Community/ Health and Social Care.

Experience in working with young people aged 16 – 25.

Good IT skills.

Experience of report writing and record keeping.

Successful applicants will be required to register with Northern Ireland Social Care Council.

The ability to work flexibly including evening and weekend work and participate in a 24 hour on-call rota.

The ability to drive, access to a car and willingness to procure business class insurance. This role requires the ability to travel according to the needs of the job, with reasonable adjustments, if required, according to the Equality Act.
