We are looking to recruit RMHN to DAEDS - Inpatient setting. This is an exciting time to join DAEDS, having a national reputation for being at the forefront of service development in eating disorders. This unique service provides treatment and care for individuals of all ages with an eating disorder and their families. You will be expected to work with the Ward Manager and the rest of the team to ensure safe clinical practice, delivering the best possible evidence-based treatment to the patients and their families who use our service. You will be an RMHN (current NMC registration) and preferably have some experience of working within the eating disorders field. You will work predominantly on the inpatient unit and in the day programme as required. You must be a good team worker and also be able to effectively manage and lead as the nurse in charge of the shift. A rotational shift pattern is in place within the service, including days, nights, and weekends. The inpatient unit is open 24/7. We will support and facilitate development via clinical and management supervision. Preceptorship will be offered for those newly qualified. For international applications, we require a minimum of 3 years' experience within a specialised mental health setting, preferably eating disorders, being exposed to therapeutic interventions that offer support to patients with an eating disorder and other comorbid presentations. Contribute to the holistic care of patients, assisting their recovery and maintaining clear, accurate written records. Implement the discharge process to ensure successful outcomes. Take charge of the inpatient unit regularly and day programme when required in the absence of the Ward Manager and Deputy Ward Manager. Ensure receipt of clinical and managerial supervision in line with trust policy and be a clinical supervisor to band 3's and 4's within the team. Help in the inductions of staff and students. Undergo mentor/preceptor/NVQ assessors training. Be aware of financial constraints in both pay and non-pay areas and cooperate with managers to work within set budgets. Contribute to health, safety, and security of individuals and their environment and evaluate the risk of harm, abuse, and failure to protect. Undertake a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression course; successful completion is a condition of your employment. Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check. About us

Knowledge, Skills and Training

RMHN with experience in eating disorders. Job Specific Experience

Experience of assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of treatment. Supervised experience gained during clinical placements. Experience of working on an inpatient ward and an ability to take charge of a ward/case load regularly. Good organisational skills. Information Technology

Able to use IT to support communication and teaching through the use of presentation software. Experience

Knowledge and experience of Eating Disorders. Additional requirements

Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable the post holder to carry out the role effectively. Disclosure and Barring Service Check

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust £29,970 to £36,483 a year p.a. / pro rata for part-time.
