An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of Booking Clerk within our Specialist Medicine CAU. We are looking for a hard-working, organised individual, who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and use initiative. The role involves the booking of Outpatient appointments, answering telephone calls, and monitoring waiting lists in line with Trust policy. You will need to have excellent communication skills, especially working with the general public, as well as being dedicated to providing an efficient and effective service. You will be working closely with members of the Clinical Admin Unit in order to ensure patients are seen in a timely manner. Main duties of the job

Plan and coordinate outpatient clinics working in close liaison with the Senior Booking Clerk. Exercise initiative and independent judgement in decision making. Facilitate service improvement to streamline a patient's journey and ensure the Trust delivers a quality service. Be IT literate, able to meet deadlines, and have attention to detail. Knowledge of Allscripts is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
