An exciting opportunity has arisen to apply for the role of a Point of Care Testing (POCT) Coordinator Band 7 at East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust within the Biochemistry POCT department at Ipswich Hospital.

ESNEFT hosts a pathology network that provides an excellent laboratory service all year round (24/7) to the patients of the Trust. We have well-equipped modern laboratories and are building solid and stable pathology teams at Colchester and Ipswich Hospitals.

Occasionally you may be required to work at Colchester to cover absence.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible as lead for Ipswich POCT Manages and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the team Leads on service improvement Responsible for standard and quality of results Provides specialist advice to clinicians Provides specialist service e.g. training, advanced troubleshooting, problem solving for specialist requirements To work flexibly in reflection of service needs which may include an extended working day and/or participation in delivery of a 24 hour, 7 day per week service The work of the service brings staff into constant contact with human body fluids, tissues and hazardous chemicals Maintain and promote a professional image of the pathology We are ESNEFT and we provide hospital and community health services to almost one million people across east Suffolk and north Essex.
