As part of an exciting expansion programme, we are currently establishing a new residential home in Norwich called
The Den , which will provide holistic care for young people with learning disabilities who have complex health needs and/or challenging behaviours. The Den
has the potential to provide a home for two young people or to operate as a sole occupancy home. The Service will have the use of its own vehicle and is also situated in a Norwich suburb which has good bus links and is close to the rail station in the city. We are now recruiting for this exciting new Service. We need motivated, resilient and positive individuals with humour, tenacity and empathy to help children and young people with disabilities to flourish and reach their full potential. The rewards from the direct work with the young people can be endless but in addition you will receive a thorough initial induction and training programme as well as ongoing training opportunities, the option to join a highly regarded pension scheme, generous holiday entitlement, support and supervision. To engage in the effective support and care of children and young people with disabilities, so they feel supported in all aspects of their lives. This will include providing personal/social care at differing levels to ensure that disabled holistic needs are met at all times. To engage in the effective delivery of residential childcare in accordance with Ofsted's Social Care Inspection Framework. To maintain good professional practice within the homes in accordance with Departmental Standards, working as part of a team to achieve good outcomes for children and young people. Person Specification
Qualifications
Ability to attain NVQ Level 3 within 18 months of appointment. Good standard of education achievement (5 GCSE passes) or equivalent qualifications. Willingness to undertake relevant training courses. Experience
Ability to form effective relationships with children and act as a positive role model. Knowledge and understanding of childcare law. Understanding the signs of safety approach or willingness to undertake the training. Knowledge of augmented communication systems. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
