The Walker Close team are looking for a temporary Band 7 CTL (LD or RMN Nurse) to work on the LD inpatient Assessment and Treatment Unit.
You will be joining a friendly, motivated and enthusiastic team who are on their journey to outstanding. The wards form part of the acute service for learning disability and autism, along with the Intensive Support Team (IST), who work with people in the community to prevent unnecessary hospital admissions or provide transitional support between services.
We invest heavily in training, provide first-class support, promote collaborative teamwork, and give everyone in our team the opportunities and resources to achieve their full potential. The teams are updating their Positive Behaviour Support skills with the British Institute for Learning Disability (BILD) and enjoy other training such as Makaton as part of a wide selection of subjects delivered at our monthly protected days.
You will be joining the team which will involve taking part in the ward QI projects and working towards improving patient care.
Who we are looking for?
We are looking for an experienced band 7 nurse to come and provide clinical leadership and management for the team and to support the Acute LD service manager and charge nurses.
Main duties of the job
To be responsible for the management and leadership of a team of health professionals providing care over a 24-hour period. To provide effective leadership and management to staff which promotes high performance standards both individually and as a team. Expected to lead the ward team in providing high quality, compassionate nursing care and will be able to demonstrate this through compliance with performance outcomes. Expected to be a positive and strong leader who will set a clear and compelling vision for the team. Will be a visible presence who influences and supports consistently great teamwork and a positive culture. To lead by example and motivate the team to provide exceptional levels of care to all our patients. As an enthusiastic and positive change agent, their dedication, professionalism, and communication skills will inspire others to also go the extra mile and display high levels of performance in even the most challenging situations. Experience
Able to demonstrate experience at a senior clinical level including staff management/supervision experience. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team. Evidence of leading a team through change. Qualified as a nurse for over 2 years. Qualifications
Nursing degree or equivalent, Dip SW or Dip OT or equivalent, or HCPC registered. Ongoing professional development working towards degree level. Higher degree or post-graduate certificate in area of clinical/therapeutic practice. Skills
Competent and effective treatment skills. Disclosure and Barring Service Check
