The salary advertised is full time (35 hours per week). Part-time hours will be pro-rated accordingly. Hourly rate of pay: £12.96 - £13.78 Days and Hours of Work: Monday - Thursday, 08:00-13:30 (30 minute break) Friday, 08:30-12:30 To start asap. The postholder assists the Senior Science Technician in preparing practical experiments and paperwork for the science classes. This also involves cleaning and maintenance of equipment within the science department. The Jobholder is responsible for ensuring that equipment is available for use by teachers and students. Relevant Qualifications Educated to SVQ2, National Certificate, Higher or equivalent in a relevant discipline and/or able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and competencies gained through relevant experience. PVG Membership This post is considered as Regulated Work with vulnerable children and/or protected adults, as specified in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. All preferred candidates for posts carrying out regulated work with these groups will be required to become a PVG Scheme member, or undergo a PVG Scheme update if they are already a member, prior to any formal offer of employment being made by East Lothian Council.
